The Philadelphia Union Academy is dedicated to developing top young talent and providing a clear pathway to the professional level. With a proven track record of producing elite players for Union II, the First Team, and beyond, the Academy offers a structured development model that emphasizes technical ability, tactical understanding, and game intelligence.
Recruitment for the Union Academy is highly selective, identifying players with exceptional skill, work ethic, and potential to thrive in a high-performance environment. Scouting takes place year-round through matches, tournaments, identification events, and direct recommendations from trusted coaches. For those who aspire to reach the highest levels of the game, the Philadelphia Union Academy provides the ultimate player development pathway, transforming talent into future professionals.
For prospective student-athletes that are interested in joining the Union Academy and attending YSC Academy, parents of players entering 7th to 12th grades should complete the Philadelphia Union Academy recruitment form which will alert them to your interest. The form will request athletic and academic information to evaluate and consider potential opportunities.
Once the Union Academy’s Director of Talent Identification has confirmed a potential soccer opportunity exists, the Union will inform YSC Academy who will reach out to you to begin the school application process.

Invitation to Apply
It is only through the Union Academy recruitment process that YSC Academy accepts students. For questions regarding soccer recruitment, please see the information above.
Once a student-athlete is invited to apply to YSC Academy, the process includes:
- An inquiry form
- Review of recent report card or transcript
- Interview with the Head of School
- Shadow Day
- Financial aid application (if aid will be requested)
Tuition
Tuition for YSC Academy includes the use of a computer, textbooks, select school supplies, substantial snacks, college entrance exams (PSAT, SAT), and graduation costs. Families are responsible for providing a daily lunch and water bottle.
Please note YSC Academy tuition does not include residency or transportation costs. For those details, families should contact the Union Academy directly.
Financial Aid
YSC Academy’s goal is to ensure that student-athletes who would otherwise be unable to attend YSC Academy are able to do so through financial assistance. Financial aid awards are granted based on demonstrated need and our school’s capacity to discount tuition accordingly, as determined through the application process.
We work in partnership with families, trusting that they will contribute as much as possible to support their child’s education at YSC Academy.
