Zackary Coons brings 15 years of classroom experience teaching Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Science, and AP-level science at college-prep schools in the Philadelphia area, paired with more than a decade coaching rowing at the elite level. Throughout his career, he has built STEM programs from the ground up, including fabrication labs, robotics teams, and VR-integrated curricula, and coached athletes to Team USA and the U23 World Championships.

Prior to joining YSC Academy, Zack taught science and led STEM initiatives at Holy Cross Prep Academy, Bishop Eustace Prep, and St. Augustine Prep, while coaching rowing for Crescent Boat Club, Penn Athletic Club, Roman Catholic High School, and La Salle University. He is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Technological Education at the University of Central Missouri, specializing in distance and online learning.

At YSC Academy, Zack will teach science courses while bringing his experience with student-athletes, hands-on STEM instruction, and distance-learning research into the classroom. He will draw on his coaching background to understand what student-athletes are managing day to day, and use his technology and curriculum-design experience to keep students engaged and learning.
